Weekend Reads: Patience & Wearing White

“How wonderful is the case of a believer; there is good for him in everything and this applies only to a believer. If prosperity attends him, he expresses gratitude to Allah and that is good for him; And if adversity befalls him, he endures it patiently and that is better for him.”

Imam Sufyan Ath-Thawree: Three qualities are from patience:-
1. Not speaking about your misfortune
2. (Not speaking about) your pain
3. And not praising yourself

(Al-Hilyah, 6/389)

Wearing White

Ibn Abbas RA reported: I heard Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) saying,

“Put on white clothes because they are the best; and use them for shrouding your dead.”

(Tirmidhi and Abu Dawud)
